Tim Tebow: did God dump His boy?
Uploading ....
The Tim Tebow drama would seem to have runs its course, his having been just released by the N.Y. Jets -and released in the most inglorious of fashions. Having been given the opportunity to talk to other NFL clubs in the off season about employment in positions other than quarterback, Mr. Tebow resoundly reiterated his interests in his being brought on as a quarterback, wherever he may go. As if to put Tim in the ultimate strangle hold, choke as much life out of his as possible, and do the rest of the NFL a favor -discrediting him by the way he was deliberately withheld till the league had just filled its many needs via the draft- the Jets then released Tebow into a veritable vacuum. In doing so in this fashion, the resulting situation is simply more of the circumstance I originally outlined in my very first commentary on the Tim Tebow mythos. I quote from my article of July 2011, its a raj "Part and parcel of the appeal of this young man within the [Christian] community stems not just from his firm faith but from his ‘come from behind/upliftment of the downtrodden' theme -prevalent from his very birth story forward, as we are all well aware. This theme is central to the Christian mythos, made so by the apostle Paul (who was actually drawing upon similar and earlier sources from still other Greek, Roman, and pagan mystery school narratives, but the Christian populace is generally uninformed here, and the few who are prefer denial). Nonetheless, in essence Paul said, "Because the Absolute self-emptied and became ‘as a lamb' in Jesus, my weakness too is redemption strength in the ironies of the Mystery". And this mythos has indeed served the Christian community well over the centuries, and is the hinge-pin of the travail this young man embodies and struggles with … according to them, of course. To the more secular doubters, he is just an unworthy athlete/pro quarterback who has gotten lucky a couple times".
"I myself with hold the impulse to jump to conclusions or try to predict factual, real-world outcomes … [yet] I am equally privy to the possibility that this phenomena actually serves quite the opposite purpose -that the unrealistic hyping of this by the Christian community is misguided and misplaced. Perhaps his down turn heralds his down fall in most every sense because never actually real as purported, a mere accidental blip that will soon be completely exposed and discredited -the extremes of the faithful in tow."
This phase of the drama, then, could be seen by such Tim Tebow believers and the above mythos faithful, as just such a setting up of the worldly circumstances (apparently down and out for the count with no hope in sight) as Spirit's setting the circumstances for God to intervene at some point in the future, give Tim a chance in hell some day, only to watch the Tebow magic work again -God, Timmy, and the Christian community glorified once more … "and we told you so!" Rajettes Even so, should Tebow's remarkable and historic flash in the pan with the Denver Bronco's storied season of 2012 actually turn out to be his vehicle to fame, Tim's future is indeed bright, for all he has to do (before the burnish fades to dull too quickly) is announce his retirement from the stranglehold of commercial athletics (who misunderstood and mistreated him – which they did, by most all accounts), take his money, popularity and huge backing from the Christian populace and start a mega-Church and ministry.
Did God dump his boy Tim Tebow? I doubt it. True Nature is supportive of genuine efforts on its behalf, in the end. But what exactly is the real nature of the phenomena observed and the best way to align oneself with the currents and directions It intends for humanity and one's own life? That is the crux of the dilemma we all struggle to realize.
Grace be upon you Tim Tebow … this drama may be far from over.
